The LEYDEN LS-LDN753PS is an advanced 5.8GHz Microwave Presence Sensor designed to detect human movement, slight body motion, and breathing signals for intelligent lighting automation. Unlike conventional PIR motion sensors, this presence sensor continues detecting occupants even when they are sitting, reading, typing, or performing slight movements, helping prevent lights from turning OFF unnecessarily.

Its 360° ceiling-mounted microwave radar technology provides reliable occupancy detection for homes, offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, hospitals, classrooms, hotels, libraries, and commercial buildings.

The built-in daylight sensor automatically controls lighting according to ambient light levels, reducing electricity consumption while improving user comfort.

Installation Instructions

1. Switch OFF the main power supply.
2. Cut a ceiling hole of approximately 65–70 mm.
3. Open the terminal cover.
4. Connect Live, Neutral, and Load according to the wiring diagram.
5. Adjust DIP switches if required.
6. Secure the wiring.
7. Push the spring clips inward.
8. Insert the sensor into the ceiling opening.
9. Restore power.
10. Allow approximately 60 seconds for sensor initialization before testing. These installation and initialization steps are shown in the datasheet.

Operating Instructions

First Power ON

• Sensor enters self-test mode.
• Initialization takes approximately 60 seconds.
• During initialization, external motion is ignored.
• After initialization, normal detection begins.

Detection Operation

• Human walking → Light turns ON.
• Slight movement while sitting → Light remains ON.
• Breathing detection → Occupancy maintained.
• No presence → Light turns OFF after the selected delay.

Important Installation Precautions

• Install away from large metal objects where possible.
• Avoid installation directly behind large glass panels when unintended detection outside the room may occur.
• Avoid installation near continuously vibrating equipment such as ceiling fans or heavy machinery.
• Do not expose the daylight sensor to artificial light sources that may affect ambient light measurement.
• Select an appropriate detection range to minimize false triggering from adjacent areas.
• Detection performance depends on installation height, object movement, surrounding environment, and room layout. These precautions are reflected in the application notes provided in the datasheet.
